This site is an exploration of my life as a scientist and then as an artist.  It is not a marketing or “personality branding” exercise, but more a personal recollection of the life I’ve led. My childhood and youth, particularly in exploring landscapes, informed my training as a research scientist and then an artist. As in Indian culture, I am definitely well into my move “into the forest”.  Clicking on the words below will lead to more information about my life and work.

Most of the photographs in this website can be downloaded. They are not copy-protected, but the user should ascribe their source to David Lee. Most of these photos were used in his books, where they are fully described. A few of those were provided by colleagues; these should not be used unless permission of the photographer is obtained.
